CBS: Math Fail...

CBS has been headlineing the "opinion split" over the Arizona Immigration bill as 57% support for the Arizona Immigration Law.

Public support for Arizona's controversial new immigration law has increased slightly, a new CBS News poll shows, with 57 percent of Americans characterizing the law as "about right" in the way it addresses the issue of illegal immigration.

 Okay, 57-43.. that's close, right?...  unitl you check the chart they include in their article

You see that 17%...   It's just 17% right?  Except for the fact that they say the law is good, but doesn't go far enough.

So if my math is correct.. 57+17 = 74% of their own pollees say that the law is good (or doesn't go far enough). to 23% who say it goes too far...

So our final totals are 74 to 23 in favor of the Arizona law, or something stronger.   To CBS, that's a really "close" opinion.
