The politically charged decisions by veteran Democratic Reps. Charles Rangel of New York and Maxine Waters of California to force public trials by the House ethics committee are raising questions about race and whether black lawmakers face more scrutiny over allegations of ethical or criminal wrongdoing than their white colleagues.
You have to be kidding me right? First Rangel and Waters want the public trials, so that's making the Ethics committee racist?
There’s a “dual standard, one for most members and one for African-Americans,” said one member of the Congressional Black Caucus, speaking on condition of anonymity.
You mean someone from the CBC, who is represented by Waters and Rangel? That CBC?
I'll tell you what, Mr. CBC Mystery man.. you find charges against a non-Black congressmen, and you'll have my vote to throw him up in front of the Ethics committee... oh wait, you mean like Rep Massa and Souder? Those non-black congressmen? Congressmen who were forced to step down from their seats because of the charges? (Unlike Rangel, who may only be getting a reprimand?)
You mean those non-Black Congressmen, Mr. Mystery CBC man?
Now I don't vote Democrat, but can someone explain how with all these charges, Rangel is still up on Mr. Powell (his NY Primary opponent) by 39-21 with nearly 24% undecided? I guess my ethics makes it impossible for me to vote Demoncrat.
