In a July 21 letter to U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Service Kathleen Sebelius, the Senate Majority Leader complains that ObamaCare’s cuts to Medicare will “result in a net reduction in payment to Nevada’s hospitals when they are unable to absorb such a cut.” Furthermore, he questions the method used by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to calculate the payments to hospitals, and is “very concerned about potential effects on beneficiary access if this regulation is finalized without adjustment.”
Notice the date of the letter... so he's known this has been a fiasco for an entire week, but it only JUST now gets out.
But to me the key phrase is "finalized without adjustment".. unfortunately, knowing Democrats this just means "MORE" regulations.
But then Wizbang caught something I missed
After myself and 71% of the Missourians voted for Proposition C. (and after we got called stupid by our own Senator McCaskill, "old white voters" by Juan Williams, and a few other names by other individuals. Harry Reid topped it off with this:
“It’s very obvious that people have a lack of understanding of our health care reform bill,” Reid said. “The more people learn about this bill, the more they like it.” He noted that the health insurance “exchanges,” or marketplaces, will take three years to kick in.
Note that this claim came last Tuesday... 3 WEEKS AFTER HIS LETTER to the HHS.
And then his follow up quote:
Reid cited recent polls suggesting that the health law is becoming more popular, though a significant number of Americans still oppose it.
“The trend is turning all over America today,” Reid said. “Once you explain what’s in the bill, the American people of course like it.”
... unless of course, you're an average American... or if your name is Harry Reid.. although I think it's only because Harry hasn't figured out how to screw the rest of us.
