Jefferson was right yet again..

"The most effectual engines for [pacifying a nation] are the public papers... [A despotic] government always [keeps] a kind of standing army of newswriters who, without any regard to truth or to what should be like truth, [invent] and put into the papers whatever might serve the ministers. This suffices with the mass of the people who have no means of distinguishing the false from the true paragraphs of a newspaper." --Thomas Jefferson to G. K. van Hogendorp, Oct. 13, 1785. (*) ME 5:181, Papers 8:632

And Carlson Tucker and the Daily Caller prove it.

... According to records obtained by The Daily Caller, at several points during the 2008 presidential campaign a group of liberal journalists took radical steps to protect their favored candidate. Employees of news organizations including Time, Politico, the Huffington Post, the Baltimore Sun, the Guardian, Salon and the New Republic participated in outpourings of anger over how Obama had been treated in the media, and in some cases plotted to fix the damage.

I guess Andrew has to pay Tucker that $100K he promised, I think... Either way, it will be interesting to see how the Alphabet Soupies triy to bury this story. (... heck, the Big sites were bombarded with visitors today over all this.. I can only imagine the traffic the Daily Caller's getting over this.)

But just by looking at some of the media outlets above, I think you can now say with no "ifs, ands, or buts" that the Media outlets are no longer watchdogs, but official arms of propoganda of the government.

I think Jefferson is turning over in his grave right now.
