Elena Kagan, Supreme court justice and ...

Book Banner?

Everyone remembers the hub-bub that was disproven when it was claimed that Sarah Palin wanted to ban/censor books?

Note that every headline is not of the "is she  a book banner?" (Well, admittedly, the L.A. Times headline is the least assumptive..  but that's like saying that Playmate of the Month for May has the smallest breasts of all of the 2010 playmates...)

Well, now it seems that our Supreme Court Nominee.. (you know, the one with no legal experience?) thinks the govt. can rightfully do so if they see fit...

“the government’s view is that although 441b does cover full-length books, that there would be quite good as-applied challenge to any attempt to apply 441b in that context.

But compare the headlines:

Anyone notice the difference? Even when Kagan's own comments make her opinion quite clear.

Now you might argue the media is trying to avoid being burned (like they were with just about every assault on Mrs. Palin)...  but I'd wager there's more than a little "protectionism" for their boy's personal picks for the Court.
